We believe...
…that leather car seats and trips to the beach can peacefully coexist,
…that chasing down a screaming half-rubbed-in kid shouldn’t be your payment for a day in the sun,
…that good habits can form organically when they’re designed to be fun and build confidence.
The ‘aha’ moment
With her family’s history of melanoma in mind, Sqween founder Samantha Miller Lawi has made it her mission to keep her fair-skinned daughters sun-safe. But, getting two kids to sit still for more than one minute is to wage war on a beautiful day. Through the sticky, hot messes, bribery attempts and creative trickery, Sqween was born.
Why call it Sqween?
Inspired by the adorable way toddlers say ‘sun-scween’, we named it for what it is: clean, squeezable sunscreen.
Sun care kids can
get a handle on
How can we forget the memories of mom and dad smearing us with sunscreen, the sting in our eyes, the countdown until we could run to safety?
Mom-made, Sqween gives kids the confidence to take sun protection into their own hands and parents a way to teach healthy sun care habits that last.

(safe) fun in the sun
All play aside, sun care is really important to us. Just about 80% of total sun exposure happens before the age of 18. That means now is the time to empower our kids to take on their own sun care and create healthy habits that stay.
